2002 A/W STRIPED "FISHERMAN'S" SWEATER BY MISS DEANNA

€325.00

One of the most acclaimed and interesting output of Margiela practice was his long-lasting collaboration (until 2003 A/W) with Deanna Ferretti Veroni, who founded the esteemed Italian knitwear company Miss Deanna. The close collaboration between the designer and the producer allowed to create very limited collection of pieces, in highest fabrication, with special treatment and experimental cuts.

This classic sweater of nautical heritage, called "chandail", has been crafted from finest dry wool with silky in character drape. The French expression "marchand d’ail" (garlic merchant), was soon anglicized as "chandail" and ended up referring to this unique item of clothing that was the fisherman sweater. After closer inspection, shows many interesting details, notice sharply finished cuffs or waist - originally fisherman's sweaters were supposed to be worn tucked-in. Those items are extremely rare and sought after.

Size XL, best for size IT50 or IT52 (shoulder to shoulder: 44cm, arm pit to arm pit: 54cm, sleeves: 66cm, length: 72cm).

Made in Italy. Produced by Miss Deanna. Excellent, close to dead-stock, condition.
