2001 A/W ROUND ZIP CARDIGAN IN IRREGULAR WOOL BY MISS DEANNA
One of the most acclaimed and interesting output of Margiela practice was his long-lasting collaboration (until 2003 A/W) withDeanna Ferretti Veroni, who founded the esteemed Italian knitwear company Miss Deanna. The close collaboration between the designer and the producer allowed to create very limited collection of pieces, in highest fabrication, with special treatment and experimental cuts.
This zippedcardigan from winter collection of 2001, in our opinion is the most iconic knitwear piece from the early Margiela menswear, featured multiple times in the lookbook as well as in many publications and editorials. Simple from the distance item, after closer inspection, shows many interesting details in the way of knitting - surface is slightly textured and shows aspecific type of an appropriated mistake, as the single yarns are wovenirregularly at some distances. That gives the sweater worn in, alive attitude which we would call as quintessential touch of Margiela and Miss Deanna innovation. Those items are extremely rare and sought after.
