Pure minimalist timeless sophistication - this item explicitly describes why we adore Helmut Lang aesthetic this days and for many other years to come. As Sarah Mower for Vogue stated in the review of the 2004 winter's season show:
As sophisticated as these pieces are, they have an easy wearability that lifted this collection clear of the shredded, strap-manic complexity of some of Langs recent work.
Presented here sweater was featured in multiple of looks from the season. As conventional it seems at the first view, the item shows its second life once touched and closely examined - extremely reduced form and highest quality of finest wool yarn (it really feels like silk) puts it far apart from any common sweater. Precisely cut, with subtle stitch quality around the shoulder and v-neck opening, it is finished with folded flat seams at the end of the sleeves and at the waistline, to create a unique contrast between the luxurious fabrication and almost t-shirt like simplicity. Highly recommended.
