2009 S/S ANATOMICAL LINEN BLAZER WITH CONTRASTING SILK LAPELS
Kostas Murkudis is one of those slightly forgotten designers, after having a peak time in late '90s, working as a main assistant at Helmut Lang, and running his own label, have taken more settled down path of Artisanal smaller scale work. We truly adore his language, very refined, deconstructed aesthetic. This spectacular blazer was produced in highly limited amount, mostly sold at his brother's store in Berlin, and few retailers in Japan. Characterized by smooth, organic lines, beautiful finishing hidden in smallest details, note the cuffs with removed buttons, or oval shaped stitching around front pockets. The piece reminds us of tuxedo jacket introduced by Margiela for his spring/summer 2002 collection, shown on the pictures.
