Right from his graduation collection from the Antwerp Academy in 1994, the principles underlying Stephan Schneider’s design language were evident. At base was an interest in subtly lovely fabrics and gentle, muted colour schemes coupled to clean, simple-looking cuts. Schneider’s collections also gently blur gender boundaries – his every day garments for men and women are complementary, sharing the same fabrics and shapes and bringing out a softer side in the men’s wear and a firmer side in the women’s.

Inspired by everyday life, his style is rather realistic and functional, albeit created with the greatest attention to detail.
