VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO

Veronique Branquinho was born in Belguim in 1973. Between 1991 and 1995 she studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Antwerp, a college counting Raf Simons and Dries Van Noten among its alumni. Veronique Branquinho’s garments are celebrated for their exquisite tailoring and sophisticated elegance. Inspired by the designer’s love of classic cinema, dark north European fairy tales and edgy romanticism, her women’s wear makes refined use of elements such as pleating and fine layers to create pieces that flow around the wearer’s body as they move. In 2003 she launched a men’s wear line that combined the classic look of archetypes from the male wardrobe with carefully selected lightweight materials and a slimmed down cut. Veronique Branquinho’s eponymous label was always less about lofty concept and more about “being”.

"For me, fashion is not only about creating clothes but most of all about creating a universe." V.B.
